Third Birthday

Allegra's third birthday, and the third one she's been at least partly in Portugal for; when she was born, we were racing from Portugal, she was born as we were getting on the ferry at Santander. We got her a small interim cake; her proper one will be next Saturday, when all the family will be here.

Unfortunately, she was quite ill for most of the day, with a fever and throwing up twice on the way to Lisbon. We still managed a visit to the Lisbon Oceanário, which was awe inspiring. Never bothered to go before, but really want to go again, and just spend hours looking at the array of creatures. What amazing creativity! The colours, the shapes, the ways of being and moving! 

We were in Lisbon to pick up our son from the airport, he arrived well after midnight, but both kids were awake and excited to see him. As were we. 

Eventually got to bed well after 4am, hence the backblip.

Gratefuls:
- this girl who has joined our family, so full of character and beauty, may her spirit flourish and never be crushed
- the Creator, who made sea anemones in pastel colours, and fluorescent fish and puffins and penguins and sea dragons and shoals of iridescent fish and sharks with grins and Manta rays that fly gracefully though the water and otters that swim with their hands crossed on their bellies and garden eels and pregnant male seahorses, and, and , and...
