Will Jacks is back (and so is the cricket season)
On 23rd May last year I was fortunate enough to see Will Jacks hit an amazing century for Surrey on his List A debut. Fast forward 11 months and on the opening day of Surrey's defence of the County Championship at the Oval against Essex it looked for all the world that I was going to watch him complete his maiden first class ton. Sadly he fell 12 short of that milestone thanks to the wiles and persistence of the veteran Aussie pace man Peter Siddle. Given however that Jacks is still only 20 old I'm fairly confident that I'll get to see him score a pile of runs in the years to come.
The main shot shows Jacks watching a sweet cover drive race to the boundary to bring up his 50 from 59 balls. I couldn't help wondering what England batting legend Sir Alastair Cook, stood at slip, made of this knock. The extra shot is of Jacks getting off the mark with a towering six that had Essex skipper Ryan ten Doeschate taking evasive action
