King of Scots 1306-1329.

Oot n aboot with my wife and younger son. We popped in for a coffee at the National Trust for Scotland’s Bannockburn Visitor Centre. A good friend operates the cafe. It’s well worth a visit - great fresh food, baking and lovely coffee & tea.

We walked up to the memorial site. This is the statue of Robert the Bruce, one of the most famous warriors of his generation. The victory by King Robert I and the Scots against the English in the battle of Bannockburn, on 23-24 June1314, is one of the most celebrated in Scottish history.
