A day of two halves...
Backblip
The day dawned bright and sunny. A perfect day for D, Kenny and Keith to enjoy breakfast at the Dormy Clubhouse before tackling the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles.
Ele and Mairi (aka the Golf Widows :-) joined me at home and we enjoyed coffee and muffins for elevenses whilst having a catch up. It was very pleasant sitting in the garden room with windows and doors open and the sun streaming in.
Our rumbling tums interrupted out chat so we piled into Ele's car and headed to Broadslap, but when we got there it was closed! I'd forgotten it closes on a Wednesday! So, we backtracked and headed back into Dunning and ended up in The Kirkstyle Inn.
I've never been before but had heard good things and it did not disappoint! An old, traditional pub, with friendly service and great food (little glimpse in extras) I suspect I will find an excuse to return there with D in the near future ;-)
After a leisurely lunch and more chat, we took the scenic route back to mine where Lola continued her charm offensive of Mairi, who was completely enthralled by her.
The guys arrived back from the golf at 5.45pm having had a great day. Just time for them to get showered and changed then it was off to Delivino (our favourite little Italian Deli) for dinner. The place was absolutely packed! Great for a Wednesday night.
As ever the atmosphere was fab, the service excellent and the food delicious. We've never been disappointed by a visit there. We love its relaxed atmosphere. It's very popular (Judy Murray arrived to meet friends for lunch when we were there a few weeks ago, which says a lot since Andy Murray's stunning hotel Cromlix House isn't far away.)
Such a lovely day deserves a photo to remember it by and after watching Keith struggle to take a selfie with us all in the background, our lovely waitress kindly offered to take a photo of us all and unfortunately for you lot, that's my blip :-))
Ele and Kenny were staying overnight with us but Keith and Mairi had booked a hotel room further up the A9 as they are visiting their son Ross in Inverness tomorrow. They kindly dropped us off then went on their merry way.
What a lovely day! :-)))
PS Yes that is two Harris Gin bottles on the table but we didn't drink them! Harris Gin is their house gin and they recycle the empty bottles to serve water in :-)))
