Tweedsmuir

Tweedsmuir Church is the most southerly of the parish churches where I am working as locum over the next few months.  They are all attractive buildings.

Extra:   Talla Reservoir is in the hills above this spot.   It took five years to build along with the associated works.   At least 30 of the labourers died during the building - most of them Irish workers.    They are buried in the kirk yard.     We may joke about our modern obsession with health and safety - but it would be an extraordinary thing if a building project today resulted in such a death toll.
