100/365: Poppy Line, Weybourne
The weather has been bright once again today, but still cold - well it is only early April, I think we were spoiled on Monday during our day out at Pensthorpe at 18C. Today, steam beckoned so we all took a return trip on the North Norfolk Railway from Holt to Sheringham - a trip to the area wouldn't be complete without it. The plan was (well my plan anyway) was to get to Holt station in time to catch a shot of the engine arriving at the station before boarding it. Unfortunately, one or two of the family (who shall remain nameless - you know who you are) were working to their own alternative plan which was leading us close to missing the said train entirely!
In the end, we did make it to the station in time to catch the train, but not the arriving shot. Instead, we had the pleasure of waiting another 50 minutes on our return to Holt for the next arriving train to catch the shot. Unfortunately, Mum nearly froze to death in the process, so she'll not thank me for relegating this planned picture to the extra slot, in favour of a view of Weybourne Station, complete with atmospheric steam and a bit of sepia and vignette treatment. There's no getting round it, I simply prefer it, so it must take prime position in today's entry.
I hope you like it.
By the way after all that, swimming was on the agenda again. Quelle surprise!
