A Disturbing Sign of Our Times?
Pottering along towards a mooch with a new-to-me 20mm and I come across this sign, affixed to the railings of a new building that looks like a small block of flats.
I can just imagine the conversations that took place about this new facility:
~What shall we call it...? Something feminine? Something fluffy and pink, flowery too, like cherry blossom.... something that also suggests textiles, because that's a woman-thing, init? Nothing that suggests we're only going to be interested in the profits we can screw out of the suffering of the most vulnerable of society: the mentally ill?
~Oh and we need to fill it quickly, so let's advertise it at the same time.... err...no... let's say we're taking referrals, that's got a good medical ring to it; let's not worry about that we're sign posting that vulnerable people will be on the premises... nah. Yeah, a sign fixed to the fence will be cheap and it'll prod people with mental relatives to nag their GPs. Win-win!
I best not post any more.... I'm not a political person, truly, but after seeing what's happened to schools after they've been privatised....
What? You still think your local schools are owned and run by your local council.... Bwah ha ha ha!
