A New Station

Well, to be precise it's a new platform at Sheringham which doesn't have a station building or car park. Sheringham is at the end of the Bittern line, a local line running to Norwich via Cromer which runs once an hour and takes about an hour. To get into London by train from Holt (130 miles by car) would take 3.5 hours, so I haven't done it yet. I was lucky in MK which is 50 miles from London and the journey only took 35 mins! 

The platform is being doubled in length and made wider to make it safer, particularly for wheelchair users. It is much needed as passenger numbers on the line have over trebled in the last 20 or so years and the original 1967 platform was only 'temporary'.  I do feel sorry for the regular users having to use a replacement bus service for 5 weeks though.
