Sowing soya

This is an open pollinated variety we got from Zambia last year, which has grown very well. We saved the seed, gave some away and have a large amount to plant now.
This girl is a new employee on the farms, as I dont know her, but I'm sure she is delighted to have a job, with Christmas coming (A very low-key, one day affair in Malawi, especially in remote villages, no turkey or ham or stuffing, in fact this is the hungriest season where one meal may seem like a feast.
I have just been discussing Christmas arrangements, for our staff, with Harisen tonight, who will meet with Charity, Casca and Robert to put a package together.
They will finish on Saturday (and maybe return on Wednesday, but of course someone will have to feed the pigs, fish and chickens!!!), get a bonus, get a chicken, apples (rare and very expensive ), citruses, vegetables, maize and for the first time some pressies for the children.
I'll see what they come back with.
There will also be something for our voluntary staff, like the carers in our 21 preschools, who do wonderful work, without pay.
