Road salt lick

Again not the best photo....blurry cow in the background....she moved....but I wanted to show you this.

In the winter the council leave piles of salt at the side of the roads for us to grit them ourselves because our glen is not a priority for gritting. The cows love it and there are various theories why. They may be getting minerals from it....it may help them digest their food....or maybe they just like the taste!!!! Today when I passed going out in the morning this was the scene.....salt for breakfast!!

I also took another shot of the glen with mist, frost, sun, snow.....I will put it in the blipfolio for those of you who like hills.
