Green and Gold
A little road-trip for us today. One of the disadvantages of living where we do is that it involves a fair bit of mileage just to procure the things we need to keep the wheels on the bus, so to speak.
We have a small supermarket in town and various independent shops - but our DIY store has closed. So today when TM needed a short piece of cord in order to get the little mower to start, that meant a 30 mile round trip to the garden machinery repair shop. A few other errands were accomplished along the way.
I got to buy my favourite brand of yoghurt, found a book I wanted to read on the swop shelf of a cafe, and on the way home we drove a little road that we hadn't explored before.
The rape fields are just coming into flower, no doubt encouraged by the appearance of the sun today. The barley is turning that lovely bright, tender shade of green. It won't be long now till those bare branches disappear for another year.
