The Lightning Tree........

I had my girls out for a walk today, as usual.......    I spotted a piece of bark from a tree on the ground......     it looked fresh.   I began looking for where it came from,  out of curiosity, I saw the tell tale signs of where the lightning had struck a tree yesterday.....    The collage shows the story of the power of lightning.    The Tall picture is the whole tree, where the lightning struck the tree, and went inward and down.  At a couple of places the force went out as well as down.  You follow it's path, you can see the shredding of the bark, the splintering of the wood......    All of our power lines are underground, therefore the strike had to pass to the line and then down the main power bank to my neighborhood.
      I heard today that my neighbor had to buy a new TV.  The lady who stayed here is back home tonight with a brand new AC unit.  I am fortunate that I didn't have more damage than I did.
