Crowden Great Brook

This was my annual 'too early for the Sping birds' walk up by Crowden Great Brook.  Extra photo added: A Rock with a face #Iseefaces that looks a bit like a Clanger or the star of an animated film.

I was hoping for a new experience this year but nothing not a tweet at this point this year.  Not even a Stonechat - it used to be a guaranteed spot.

I met a photographer from Hyde who had walked even further than me and although not a birder remarked on the silence and lack of bird calls.

Maybe it will all be different in the next week - The Swallows and Martins will be here soon.

Tonight I am once again tired out by my efforts. A wee bit dizzy but not as bad as last week.

The Car Park at Crowden now has so many deep potholes that its no longer possible to find a flat route.   A628 busy busy busy, where is everyone going.  I watch all the lorries and wonder if their trans-Pennine journey is really necessary , I bet its often similar goods going in both directions.
