Not Havana

In fact Regent Street, which is round the corner from where my Mum used to live - not to mention round the corner (a different corner) from the Leek Premier Inn (or still 'The Talbot' to us expats) where we spent the night. We didn't get up in time for Church but did enjoy the delights of the monthly artisan market (oatcakes with cheese and bacon for breakfast) and the coffee shop in the Foxlowe Arts Centre (flat whites), as well as little wander round these backstreets. Last night we went to the pub we used to drink in as teenagers only to discover that it was identical in every respect to how it always had been - apart from the fact that the toilets are no longer out in the yard...
