Turkish Sage

When you stand at the railing on our front porch, and look down, you see this year's crop of Phlomis russelliana (Turkish sage) growing. It's a nice plant, but the spot is hard to get to with an old rose on one side and a couple of weigela on the other. Years ago, we planted a bunch of Jerusalem artichoke there, which were pretty and cheery, but soon wanted the entire slope. I kept hacking away at the tubers to control them, but ended up getting rid of the lot of them. Bizarre to eagerly get rid of food growing in your own yard.
