Nature in the ditch

One more dogwalk around the ditch near my friend's home where I spotted these frogs ~ my friend got home on Saturday alright and pleased as things went as hoped for.
Looking closer at this capture now, it's like two toads suffocating a frog.... Really I haven't got a clue if this is murder in nature or a bit of wild sex between the races.
