One-ball croquet

The opening event of the Scottish croquet season was the one-ball event here in Edinburgh.
The day stated with the city blanketed in cloud, a bit of a breeze and the temperature fight to reach 7 C. With the cold and the wet everyone was wrapped up in as many layers as possible and finished off with good waterproofs but it was a great day. The one ball format (a hybrid of GC and AC) is fast, friendly and retains the best of its parent game.
Picture is taken late in the day when the weather had improved. But still pretty dreich.
