Hanging on....

....by the roots! When standing on top of the bluffs the ground looks solid, but in many spots the dirt and sand has eroded away underneath the grass, shrubs and trees, as you can see here. Erosion is a big problem along the bluffs, and not many of the cities that border the Lake have the funds to do something to slow it. An overcast, dreary day, so I thought I'd go see if I could find any of the ferns coming up, but there was nothing. Everything here is still, for the most part, brown and bare. I think we need a few more weeks before we start to see a difference. :))
