Red Currant

Slept quite well and before l met Elaine l had done the Waitrose shop and made my grandson’s favourite chocolate fudge cake.
Will be taking it over to their ‘s tomorrow when we go for the dinner we had to postpone last Sunday.

Elaine and l enjoyed a walk around the bustling market in Skipton in unexpected sunshine and both bought a bit of jewellery, nothing expensive.
We had booked a table at the French Bistro but when we arrived the menu was rather fishy, fine for Elaine but as l don’t eat much fish not much choice ( out of the six starters, five were fish).
I ordered the garlic mushrooms on sourdough and we both had the cheeseboard for the second course and it was delicious, helped by the large glass of red.
I bought a couple of perennials for the garden then we made our way home, stopping off for a flat white in Ilkley.

Ruby and my daughter will get the train down to London this evening as Ruby has a casting audition for NYB tomorrow, hope the pain killing gel works as well as it did in her ballet exam.
She is having the toenail removed on Tuesday.
Hope my daughter is okay too as she had an injection in her shoulder this morning as she has calcium building up in her joints and it is very painful.

Verity is having a sleepover at her friends so Kitty is staying here tonight.
This means she can have a much needed sleep in tomorrow morning when her dad and Mr P set off early to do the Baildon Boundary race : a half marathon on the moors, canal tow path and woods.
I race walked it a few years ago and still remember the steep climb that you meet half way.

The flowering red current in my photograph belongs to my neighbours and l took the shot over our shared fence.
