Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève
C left today and our friends H & J (mother and daughter) arrived from Canada. We went out for lunch and then we walked around the Luxembourg Gardens and visited Eglise Saint-Etienne-du-Mont and the beautiful Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. This nineteenth-century library was designed by Labrouste, the same architect who created the reading room at the Bnf Richelieu (see my earlier blip of it). It was around 5.30pm on a Friday when this photo was taken, and it was still packed with students!
Now I'm back at the apartment and H&J have gone out for another walk. They are holding up really well, despite the jet lag!
