Different directions
Walking by the river in Appleby this afternoon, I noticed that there had been repairs done to the opposite bank, which was badly damaged in the floods a couple of years ago. It has been a long time coming, but very welcome as the popular footpath through the trees can at last be accessed. There were a number of people making the most of this today. It all looks a bit new, but will blend in with time. It looks sturdy, which is the main thing.
And further on (see extra) is the rebuilding of the cricket pavilion, which was ruined in the floods. The replacement is rather grand and it is noticeable that it is being built on stilts - very wise.
