Emergence

I'm really enjoying being out on these fine evenings with the warm light and the sounds of birds, it feels as if we're emerging into spring. The warmth of the sun will soon be encouraging these grasses to spring to life. Easy to forget it's still only 34F.

I was drawn to this scene, after exploring a lot of options, by the little pool creating an indentation in an otherwise straight bank that provided a nice anchor for the foreground. The orange glow on the near grass is echoed by that in the distance, framed by dark trees on either side. To cap it off cloud reflections in the water give emphasis to the centre of interest.
