Study in line & light
A resource I draw inspiration from on a regular basis is the podcast "The Art of Photography" by Texas photographer Ted Forbes. Lately he's been talking about line and shape in composition and, as often happens, I found ideas from his discussion making connections and playing around in my head in a quiet moment. The result is this meditation on the interplay of light and my all too familiar surroundings. I'm quite pleased with it... not that I'm ever really all that happy with my work.
I recommend the podcast. Its a weekly show and you can find it on iTunes or on its own web site: http://theartofphotography.tv/
It's been going quite a while now and there's an excellent archive of past shows covering a wide range of topics. What I like most about it is that Ted concentrates on the more artistic aspects of the subject rather than endless reviews of expensive gear which is often the overwhelming content of photography podcasts. He does cover technical aspects but he is more concerned with the process creativity, of making an image. There's a pretty active forum and Flickr group of fans and ( in common with Blippers) I've found them friendly and constructive - unfortunately not always the case with photography Internet groups which in my experience often have too many examples of the "Big Fish in a wee pond" syndrome.
