Cloud tree

The Cloud tree was planted today. Because it was too big for the intended pot it's planted in the ground.

Masa who has sculpted the tree, has created a curved mound using about half of the soil wrongly delivered last week. That leaves me the rest of the Pearce Range to shift from council land.

Behind is mulch and the plants that were plantes here. I'll need to under plant the tree and I'm thinking about that. It will be easier to plant into the mound than the ground beneath it.

The Cloud tree is living artwork. It's an NZ native golden totara. Masa will trim and shape it once or twice a year. It will grow a bit bigger than this but it won't be huge.

It's a special touch to my garden that I see from my bedroom, the street and from the back where my bench seat is. Under planting it and seeing it grow is going to be rewarding.

I'll name it by the end of the week.

Today's gratitude: For the lovely conversation I had with one of my teenage neighbours. I was shovelling soil and he stopped on his bike to chat.
