Festival in the making

Beneath these roofs an unbelievable amount and variety of food will be prepared tomorrow. The patron saint of Oaxaca is the Virgen de la Soledad, and tomorrow is her special day. People have been building up to a big blowout since the last festival ended last week. This fiesta is at the Basilica close to my house, so we will be able to experience some of it right from our porch. (fireworks) Last night at 3 a.m. was a 5 minute clanging of the church bells followed by rockets. It's always amazing to see what comes next!
