Pentlands

I've only been to the Pentlands a couple of times so I thought I'd head over there with the dogs for another explore and a change of scenery.

I've always headed off from the south side at Penicuik so I thought I'd start from the North side today, at Balerno.

Seemed to take ages to get there!
I was 5 minutes from the car park, after the sat nav taking me some wierd and wonderful back roads, and I came across "Road closed" sign. No idea where I was or how to navigate to my start point! I played on the road workers good heart and persuaded him to let me through! Bless him he did!

But then when the dogs & I got back off the hills my phone had died and I had to use our real life "road atals" (that I remembered was stuffed in the boot somewhere!) to get myself back via the detour that they had placed at the other end!
Thank gaud I've got spare pare of glasses in the car to read the map!!

I'm sure I chose a faster route back than the sat nav did... Just saying! :-)
