The west side of Bird Island.

I volunteered to take the high route as part of our skua monitoring programme. Although involving a bit of scrambling it is easier walking there than in the tussock grass. And you're rewarded with great views of the rest of Bird Island.

This is taken from half way up La Roche, the biggest hill on the island. You can just make out our base in the centre, with Tonk the hill behind it. Across the water is Willis Island.
