early morning at the beach.

mornings are by far the best time on the beach for photographs.....then up the lobby for a capicino and some emails etc. we tend to fall into a similar routine each day.....i find it kinda funny how we look for rhythms and some sense of the familiar ..... we even sit in the same part of the buffet.....like most people actually.

we had a walk on a part of the beach that isn't on the resort, it was much rougher sand and lots of coral reef so not as comfortable to navigate. it surprised me to find a couple of small camp like situations, with people living there! one woman and her family stopped us and talked with us.....asking if we had any extra clothing. it is the part of visiting Cuba that is the most challenging...they survive at a subsistance level, which isn't so evident at the resort, those lucky enough to work at the resorts do make a better living that some. so i'll go back to this woman this morning with a couple of the extra tops i brought ..... wish i'd thought to bring more.
