Distant Hills

My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,

It has been blustery and rainy today. From inside the office, I could see the Wellington winds blowing wave after wave of rain in sheets across the city.

Lemon arrived quite dry, "I just missed the rain," she told me. Then realised she had left her laptop at home. "Bugger," she said, and went out again.

She arrived back at work an hour later, looking like she had fallen into a duckpond.

Nevertheless, the weather eased off enough at lunchtime for me to go for a walk. I looked back toward the city. If you look through the decorative street-lamps, you can see The Terrace, rising in the distance.

As I stood there, I realised I've had this theme going through my head all day. You may or may not remember it. It reminds me off bunking off having to stay home from school because I was sick honest. If you remember, the cases on "Crown Court" used to run over lunchtime from Tuesday to Thursday meaning you had to totally fake it be especially ill to hear the eventual verdict.

Actually, now that I think on it, there are a few daytime tv shows that I associate with school absence. From Paint Along With Nancy to The Sullivans to Pebble Mill At One.

Funnily enough, I probably remember these more than I do actual lessons. Clearly, I was very ill as a child. Ahem.
