The Princess and the Dog

By Princessnthedog

Welcome Abigail

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Abigail the giraffe dreamed of a place
Where people would smile at the sight of her face
She knew that the others all found her quite odd
When she sang all day long to her butterfly squad

She wanted to have so much more than acacia
And even considered she might like Croatia
She wanted to travel, to find other people
Who would love her, and always see her as their equal

So she bid the savannah a heartfelt farewell
And set off in her quest for a new place to dwell
For a while she was lost and felt very uncertain
When help came along from a naturalised German

She stood at the door with the name plate of Normal
And hoped that it wouldn’t be stuffy and formal
The door opened, and soon there were squeals of delight.
And Abigail knew that this home was just right

She’d be happy and loved, somewhere silly was clever
Which is why she decided to live there forever
In the house where there won’t ever be coriander
All thanks to the very kind-hearted Auslaender
