It's that time of year

Not only is it Mothering Sunday it's the time when farmers and landowners set the heather on the hills alight. Known as Falasgair, I understand that the purpose is to provide new growth for game birds and their young. Sounds more commercial than wildlife loving to me. Started at lunchtime and it's still burning away. Not sure the forestry folk will be too chuffed as they are working nearby.

In other news, first cut of the grass completed as well as a bit of pruning. Bit of a miracle to be doing the cut before it's a foot high!
