THE RED CARPET
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there, you are amazing people.
The Blip is of my 87 soon to be 88 year young Mother - she is amazing for her age and you can see she is quite happily striding down the Red Carpet.
First of all we had a really lovely evening last night at the Bay Communities Choir and Flookburgh Silver Band. Both were excellent and great choice of songs and tunes. Both had great conductors. Met Gladders his wifie and other Tai Chi friends, as well as U3A friends there too. Hubby and Sister thoroughly enjoyed it too.
The extra is of a phone blip as I didn't think to take the camera and my iPhone doesn't do the best quality photos 'cos it's really very old now. In it you will Gladders Wifie somewhere if you know her.
Today we went to Morecambe to present her with her Mother's Day cards and pressies. We then went to The Barn at Scorton, just for a browse. This is a collectables shop and cafe. It was a mistake it was heaving, worse problem getting in and out than anything else.
We then went straight onto The Walled Garden Restaurant at The Barton Grange Hotel near Preston, anticipationg parking would be a problem. It wasn't - plenty of space. The restaurant was busy but well space and apart from a one or two screeching children (luckily at the far end of the restaurant from us) it was lovely.
From arrival it was a fabulous tiime. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who wasn't at all phased that we were early and was very happy to accommodate this. She assigned us a waiter called Fabrizio. He took my Mum and I by the arms and escorted us to our seats. Hubby and his sister had to make their own way!!!
After browing the lovely menu and placing our order we were presented with glasses of prosecco, just for the ladies, 'cos hubby was driving. Then before the starter arrived a table magician appeared asking if we would be interested in seeing some magic. Well of course we were. He was excellent - simple tricks really but they were good, we had not idea how he did them.
Then on completion of the meal Fabrizio came back and said would you like a song - he gave us a few choices and Mum and Sis-in-Law chose one between them. Fabrizio then proceeded to sing Memories for us - well one verse anyway. He has a terrific musicals voice.
On her way to the facilities Mum took a wrong turning and got lost, a waitress had to escort her to where she should be, saying to us that Mum was heading for wine cellar!!!!??? As you can imagine much hilarity followed and have already informed my siblings!!
Then as we left Mum walked the red carpet which had been kindly provided.
All in all a wonderful evening last night and a terrific Mother's Day for Mum and all of us.
