I Meant to do my Work Today

First morning swim of the year - before we lose the light - that's a first. AND it was a lap, so first lap of the year.
First time for Mowgli to roll in a dead fish.
First Diva's breakfast of the year.
Also my first time to see the jewels that are my photo.  There is a different  view in extras.  Anyone know what it is?

It was one of those days where I had little to do and I got even less done - distracted fully by little pleasantries. Years ago a friend gave my the poem below, it's up on the wall in my bathroom.  Today was a perfect example.

I Meant to Do My Work Today

I meant to do my work today—
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand—
So what could I do but laugh and go?
