Riverside Hulk
Mum and I headed to Riverside Country Park on the Thames near Rainham. Kent again - but this time we had her mobility scooter in the back, so she was able to join me as I walked along the causeway to Horrid Hill and the ruins of the smallest cement works on record. The reclaimed land also boasted a wharf from which chalk from a nearby quarry was ferried along the Medway to cement works in Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppy.
The tide the lowest I have seen it, and the old hulks sunk in the bay were fully visible (where they hadn't sunk into the estuary mud!). I liked this close up view of the stern of one of the larger vessels gently rusting away. A full view is in extras.
