Spring

I love this time of year at my parents’ house. I went outside early this morning and saw phoebes, bluebirds, flickers, a pileated woodpecker, and the hawks. Later, we saw this guy sunning himself on the driveway. He pretty much ignored me whenever I came to take more pictures.
I’m a little torn about black snakes - I hate to kill anything, but watched one climb a massive tree the other year to raid a flicker nest and my dad saw one climb the front of the house to get to the phoebes. I told my dad that if he sees him again near the house, maybe he should...my dad said something about gardening accidents so I think we’re on the same page.
Oh, and yes - we are the two idiots who saved and relocated some black snake eggs last year.
