Weston

I’m out on my bicycle exploring the countryside of Herts. Weston was the home of a giant called Jack O’Legs who used to steal bread from the local bakers and distribute it to the poor. The bakers were none too keen on Jack’s philanthropy and took the law into their own hands. They caught Jack and put his eyes out and prepared to hang him. His last request was to be buried where his arrow landed when he drew his mighty bow. He fired an arrow from Baldock which hit Weston Church and landed in the churchyard. His grave is there to this day by the gate.
