Piper Alpha Memorial

The Piper Alpha Memorial at Hazlehead to the 160 men who died in the rig inferno in 1988. It’s still a vivid memory for me - a few of our patients were killed and I remember difficult visits to the bereaved in the days afterwards. Most of the men that died were in their 20s and 30s.
