Bird Off a Hot Tin Roof

I had this big blue heron gently meandering across the tin roof, so I was ready when he/she took to the air. So graceful for such a big bird.

While I thought this was my best flyer of the afternoon, it wasn't my favorite picture.

My favorite is in the Extras.

A huge pile of buoy floats are waiting on a boat for their next use. And, trust me...they REALLY smell. So they attract flies. 4 snowy egrets were competing for the position of fly-catcher. They stalk them, and then pounce with that big beak.

My only question is...how many flies would it take to make a meal? Yummy.
