Bob Dylan and the Hawks - Tell Me, Momma (recorded live, Liverpool Odeon, 14 May 1966)
Having finished playing through Cutting Edge I'm now slowly working my way through The Live 1966 Recordings of Dylan's world tour. I've reached Disc 13 recorded at the Birmingham Odeon on 12 May 1966. You Tube clips of the tour are a bit thin on the ground so this from his next gig is as close as I could get. I did play the disc of this concert the following weekend, coinciding with a 6 Music Festival from Liverpool.
This track was released on the anthology The Band: A Musical History in 2005.
Tell Me, Momma was a song that opened the electric half of the concert every night until the final night at the Royal Albert Hall, and then was never performed again. He also never recorded the song in a studio.
