Tomorrow’s Breakfast

We are now on a working farm, mainly arable with some sheep. When we arrived yesterday we watched son S expertly drilling spring barley in the big field at the back.

A has six hens - Cilla, Bluebell, Doris, Blanche, Marigold, and Margot. Margot is a bit posh and lays blue eggs. They lay everyday, so we have fresh eggs every day.

This morning we walked uphill from the farm to Kingsley Vale NNR which sits just behind it. The largest Yew wood in Europe, and the oldest living things in Britain.

This afternoon we travelled into Chichester. The cathedral is a great building. I had to photograph the Arundel tomb, the subject of one of my favourite Phillip Larkin poems (extra).
