Celebrate

Alex' birthday yesterday means yummy celebratory cake at our department meeting today.  

Other reasons to celebrate include spending my evening with Pinar, who, with her husband Marc, were my neighbours 1998-2002 before they moved to India and I moved to Kurucesme.  A couple of months ago we saw each other quite by accident at the mall, and arranged to meet sometime. That "some time" was tonight, and it was truly wonderful to catch up on the last sixteen years and meet her 12 year old son!
