I’m in a movie!!
Oh, I have had a fab two days!! It wasn’t until Monday night that I got the go ahead for the extra work I applied for. I had to be at the studio for 11am and take three outfits that were right for New York in the springtime. We didn’t know what film it was until we arrived, although there were pics on FB of filming starting on the Monday for a Spider-Man spin off...Morbius. There couldn’t be two big films going on set in New York. lol
On arrival we went into costume. They had racks and racks of clothes. They used some of mine and some of theirs. Then I went to hair and make up...they were happy with what I’d done so that was quick. We were then shipped out to a holding area in the Northern Quarter. There was a lot of sitting around, but I was with a lovely bunch of people. There were about two hundred or more on Tuesday and three hundred of us today. There was a complete cross section of people there.
We went out on location and walked back and forth. We had starting points that we kept going back to. We walked more today, but over a shorter distance....back and forth, back and forth. Yes, we stood about a lot, yes we walked the same spot over and over, but we laughed and chatted and the reporters were taking pics and the public were queuing at barriers watching us and we felt special and we lapped it up ha ha ha. As we walked through the barriers yesterday two girls said in their best slack jaw Manc voices, “Ahh wow, ‘av youse lot all flown over from Americaaaa?”...”oh yeah, we sure have, honey...ha ha ha”
It was hilarious that they had to keep spraying the ground to make it look like it had been raining....in Manchester!!! Lol
I was there for ten today. I met up with Janine and Helen again. We felt like old friends and people thought we already knew each other, but we had only met yesterday. We didn’t feel as green today as we slipped into costume and knew what to do and where to go. I was later home tonight as we were told they were going to do a night shoot and twenty five of us were held back, we sat around for ages but then they decided they didn’t need us which was disappointing, but never mind. I got home after ten, which made it a long day. They don’t need me tomorrow, I was a bit sad about that but I’ve definitely got the bug for this extra lark....oops I mean SA work. I was told we aren’t extras, we are Supporting Actors! Well, there you go.
Oh, how are they going to put up with me at work after this? Ha ha ha.
Now I’ve written all about me I’ll just add that there are also a couple of other well know actors in this movie....Jared Leto and Matt Smith. Jared is the hooded star, pictured. I didn’t see Matt Smith, sadly. I did see the female lead, but I’ve never heard of her and can’t remember her name.
