Chasing Rainbows & Kiwi

This is Waianiwaniwa or Rainbow Falls. With the sun behind clouds the rainbows were missing. Later we drove around the local countryside and popped into the Aroha Island Ecological Centre.

On our last visit we did a night walk there and saw a few wild kiwis. This time the walks had been stopped on account of the very hot summer. It is to give the kiwi a rest. The whole area have kiwis but some have made the island home. They arrived via the causeway and can leave if they want.

Tomorrow we head south.
