Greater black-backed gulls

I'm not really a bird spotter, but I do try to pay attention to what I see. The two darker bodied gulls in the middle are greater black-backed gulls, significantly larger than the herring gulls around them. I know this because I have a book called 'Scottish Birds.'  The different species seem to get along alright
