Rakaia Gorge

What a wonderful few days with Rainie and Doug, they couldn't have been kinder and more generous with their time. I reckon we travelled around 900km, saw a huge variety of wonders, had a lot of laughs and ate some enormous ice creams!
On the road again and we took a break at Rakaia Gorge, enjoying an invigorating hour's hike in the humidity. Look at the river tho - it was dry when we past by a few days ago but up country had an incredible half metre of rain last night.
We're now in Hanmer Springs famous for its - yes, springs! Mineral ones which we shall sample tomorrow. I've just had a very uninspiring veggie meal, a plate of limp veg untroubled by a herb or any seasoning. It's like veggie fare 30 years ago. The Pinot was good though.
