Lady Luck

The lie in didn’t quite go to plan, a friend had lost power in his kitchen. As nothing had tripped or blown I initially thought it might be a loose wire but I suspect it was just a ‘blip’. Everything powered up so after a coffee and catch up I headed home.
The evening was at the Mayors Charity Ball at the Greenbank Hotel. Always good events and designed to relieve you of as much money as they can in the course of five hours.
I purchased my £10 worth of raffle tickets which provided me with a rum filled glass Gurkha khukri, a dinner for two at our local Balti Curry House and a selection pack of Cornish Fairings.
Betty Stoggs, pictured, conducted the auction and I believe we raised around £2,500 on the night.
