As I hung my stockings

Nine days before Christmas
and not feeling the Spirit
There were noises outside
I swear I could Hear It

I sprang from the family room
to check on the clatter
Away to the back window
To see what was the matter

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh and one tiny reindeer

I needed to see
This right jolly old Elf
and I laughed when I saw him
in spite of myself.

The crowd moved inside
ere they walked out of sight
I'm off to do some decorating
and to all a Good Night!

(I needed to see this happy scene today and thankfully it showed up right next door to my home....)
