Lady Day
Some decades ago while on holiday in County Mayo in The Republic of Ireland, I part climbed the mountain called Croagh Patrick, not on a pilgrimage but because in those days I was as nimble as a mountain goat.
While walking, I picked up this stone (I am an incurable stone-picker-upper).
To me this stone looks like a sacred, veiled figure, a religious icon.
The pilgrims in medieval times carried stones as a penance and deposited them at the top.
Today, 25 March, is Lady Day or the Feast of The Annunciation and I thought that photographing this stone on this day would be appropriate.
