A Patch of Dry Land

.... amongst the melting snow. This magnificent male chamois did not see me hiding behind a tree, observing him scent marking his territory. Higher up, a perfectly camouflaged female moved under a rock face (extra). In all there were 10 chamois, mostly staying together, breakfasting on exposed grass. I always feel so privileged to be relatively close to these magnificent animals. This morning I was alone with them before I pointed my skis downhill and enjoyed the silky spring snow before joining the normal track back to Solalex.

Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for the many presents left for yesterday's magnolia with mountain backdrop.
