But it is actually Loch Venachar in the middle of the Trossachs. The wind was so strong there wasn't just a swell on the loch there were proper waves breaking. The water level was high and there were lots of trees, usually on the banks of the loch, getting their feet very wet. We were walking along the Invertrossachs Road prior to seeing our friends R&S. We'd then planned a further, and longer, walk with them but one of today's frequent heavy squalls arrived just as we set off. Really did not want to get drookit so headed for home and stopped at Doune Ponds for a wander. See extra - the sunshine had returned and the silver birches looked beautiful.
